TPS56121/ TPS56221: difference?

What's the difference between TPS56121 and TPS56221, apart from the different possible output current? I use this components with output currents up to 12Amps, well below the max. output current of 15A (TPS56121) or 25A (TPS56221). We want to validate the design with one type, but want to use the other as well, if there is no stock at TI/ distributor. Would be nice if they are interchangeable.

    Carefully going thru both reveals no specification differences except the current limit.  So they are interchangeable to a degree.  You may find that the external passive components will be different for high current and lower current applications.  If you intend to use either for a single 12 A output circuit, you should be able to do so without any issues.
