TPS54360 Design

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54360

Hello!

I tried to configure the TPS54360 for 3.3V / 3A. With no load the output voltage seems fine but when the output curretn  rises Vout falls to something about 2.6V. For the design I used the eq in the datasheet.

f=580kHz

L=10uH

RHS = 167.5kOhm

RLS = 53.6kOhm

Cout = 100uF

I use the EVM for testing. I tried also a higher inductor but with no effect.

Is there something else to take into account when desgining the curicit?

Kind regards

Paul

  • Hi Paul,

    My first thought is it could be related to stability. Did you also use the datasheet equations to modify the compensation components on the COMP pin for the new design? If COUT is ceramic make sure to include any voltage derating.

    Best Regards,
