bq24250 Input Current Limit Detect Deglitch Time

Hi

Now we used BQ24250 with USB Current Limit  I_IN 500mA.

Spec is  IIN_LIMIT = 500 mA  =>   Min 450  /  Typ 475  /   Max 500.

But we mesuredd Input Current and result is 563mA .        *2nd time is 573mA  

I think BQ24250 must do Current Limit at Max 500mA when input current 563mA and 573mA.

  *  Condition   is   " No  Battery " 

 

[  Question ]

  I think BQ device has Deglitch Time for each detect function.

  And I guess this Current Limite detect has Deglitch time same as Other detect.

 Could you tell me about this Input Current Limit  Deglith time ??

    Hi Jasper,

     How do you set the current limit, using the EN pin or using I2C? the current limit does not look at if the battery is present or not. I want to understand more your application set up.

    Thank you quick replay.

    This is BQ24250  setting condition.

      1)   EN1 =   0 (GND )  ,   EN2  =  0 (GND)

      2)   ILM   =   270ohm    *   Current Limit is 1A 

      3)   No I2C  Control with just Power ON.

    We tested to 565mA  and 573mA    - >  But dose not work Current limit as  "Quickly".

    Several time spend  about 1msec   ->   Current Limit start as 500mA.

    Now we thinking use Motor and we worry about  Rash Current.

    And worry about current limit by Rash Current ,  but we think if  Current limit Function has " Deglitch Time ".

    I think Rash Current time under while  Deglitch Time spec  ,  We think OK.

    Please tell use Current Limit Function Deglitch Time for this device.

     The IC has a soft start. Please find the attached soft start plots. Please share plots to inspect.
