Hi sir,

I have BQ2057WTS Battery Charge Management IC and I am using 9V/1.3A Current rating DC Supply and 7.4V/2600mAh rating Lithum Ion Battery also

battery Spec: 7.4/2600mAh

MAX Charge Voltage: 8.4V

I just want to know when the Charge termination takes place

i have connected TWO LED ( RED & GREEN )  to the STAT pin initially LED Color will be RED and after 3 to 4Hrs Charge  the LED color will be GREEN

 

so please let me know when this LED Color becoming to GREEN and reason behind it

  • Termination occurs when

    I(charge) < I(term)

    and

    V(bat) > V(rch).

    I(term) is a function of the sense resistor and V(rch) is a spec in the datasheet.

    I have the BQ2057WTS  Battery Charge management Setup in my work place and i have Connected the 7.4/2600mAh

    Lithum Ion Battery for Charging 

    Observation Report (1) When Battery charging STAT LED is RED

                                     (2) Charge Done STAT LED is became GREEN

                                     (3)Charge Done ( battery voltage became 8.4V MAX) When i measure the voltage across the SNS(Resistor) relative to VCC ( High side sensing ) i got a 0V or Some micro Voltage 300uV this output is not matching with the datasheet specified please let me know the reason ?

                                     (4) How charge termination related to this Condition I(Term) ? because as per datasheet I(term) value should be -mV range

  • At charge done, the charge current drops to zero so there will be no voltage drop across the sense resistor.

    Termination occured and charging stopped when the voltage across sense dropped to -14mV typical.

    so it means to say that  my charging profile and the BQ2057WTS setup is working properly  and it's reaching to the Datasheet expected level ?

    I just Want to Know How much input voltage and Current i should feed to This Circuit ?

    it Should be a Charger or a adapter TO be Fed in to the Bq2057 Circuit ?
