TPS2540 not detected by hub

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2540

Hello,

When I plug my new design into a PC, the TPS2540 is not showing up in the device manager. The TSP2540 is coming off of a 7-port hub into which other devices are connected and working fine. (Do not see how to attached image of schematic).

CTL1,2,3 pins are connected to VCC.

Enable pulled high via 10K.

How should this chip show up in Device Manager (Windows 7). Thank you.

Best regards,

Paul

  • Hello Paul,

TPS2540 is simply a switch (one for power and two for the data lines) and cannot be detected by the PC O/S. When CTL1,2,3 are connected to VCC, the data line switches are on so that a downstream device with intelligence (USB stick, or other USB intelligent device) can be discovered by the PC O/S.
