WPC 1.1.2 spec

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ500212A, BQ500211A

Dear Sir,

Can BQ500212A or other TX support WPC 1.1.2 spec ?

Many thanks !

  • Yes

The bq500212A EVM was tested and certified to WPC 1.1.1.  The changes between 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 are in areas that will not impact certification of the 212A.

  • Question -- “Regarding to the changes between 1.1.1 and 1.1.2, TPR #6 Coil test is added”

This is NOT correct—TPR#6 was added as part of WPC version 1.1.1 and is used in Test #23f

All FOD tests and Guar Power Test (with TPR #6) were added in WPC v1.1.1 and as a result, THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WPC 1.1.1 and WPC 1.1.2

The only difference between the two versions of the spec is that we had added some missing tests in the latest version of the spec which are more logical and timing tests which will not present a problem for bq500211A or bq500212A.

Also TPR#5 was added at the same time as TPR#6, both are physically the same.  But use different received power offsets and are used in different part of certification procedure.

The FOD problems you are seeing will be addressed in a separate post which I will break out under a different title.

  • Dear BIll

Regarding to the changes between 1.1.1 and 1.1.2, TPR #6 Coil test is added.

In 1.1.1, there are no issues. But 1.1.2 induce FOD and Temperature fails with the same TX board which is adopting BQ500212A.

In the beginning I used 3 COG + 1 X7R as a resonance cap. In this case, FOD is OK, but temperature is increasing.

If I use 4 COG, Temperature is OK. But It make a failure of FOD and TPR#6 Coil Test.

Making me know how to fix this issues would be appreciated.

    Thanks
