MC34064 Inductors

Hi,

I am Mr. Mayur Vadukul and we are trying to design a 13V @ 0.5AMP step down converter using MC34064 device.

We do not know the values of the Inductor and the oscillation capacitor (C3 on the Step Down Converter application on the datasheet).

The input voltage is from 15V to 30V DC.

The regulation voltage is not good if we use the values described in the step down converter application. However that is for 5V O/P. 

Can you help us?

    Mayur,

    Is the poor regulation just at 15V input or is it also present with a 30V input? I do not believe 15V input will work correctly. The 'switch on' loss is about 1.4V (see figure 2 in data sheet) and the maximum duty cycle is roughly 85% (based on Ton/[Ton+Toff] ratio in data sheet figure 1).
