UCC28950 / behavior in over current

Hi,

I'd like to ask about current limit of UCC28950 .

Which type is the correct output behavior in over current, A or B or anything else?

Best Regards,

Yaita

  • This device has a cycle by cycle current limit on the primary.  This will limit the peak current through the inductor.   The peak current in the inductor should resemble type B.

When adjusting the output current I out slowly, when the output hits peak current limit.  It will limit the duty cycle and cause the output voltage to droop. Similar to type A.  Since peak current limit only limits the current in the inductor it is possible to get more current out of the output capacitor for a brief period of time.

    Thank you for the reply.

    I appreciate for your support.
