TPS65251 PMU

Follow up question on the TPS6525x family.

So these parts have what appears to be a V7V pin that is a 6.25V internal supply that supplies a small amount of current.  I would like to utilize this current for doing some load switching (would be more like uA of usage).  Is this ok? Or are these V7V and V3V outputs not really for use? Also, the limits are given if the input was 12V.  Is it a problem if our input is 5.7V?  Thanks

  • Aaron,

The V7V LDO provides the drive voltage for the internal switches.  We allow customers to source up to 10mA externally from the LDOs.  However if input is below around 6.5V the LDO will not regulate and the V7V pin will follow the input.
