TLC7701|DRBT-NM Vcc requirements

Hello,

I had a question about the Vcc requirements for the TLC7701|DRBT-NM chip. I have a design that uses a single line for both signalling and for power to the board. The typical signal is an 800Hz square wave whose low voltage is 3.3V and whose high voltage is 5V. Thus, chip Vcc will be this square wave. Will this have an adverse effect on the chip's function? Thanks!

Where is your threshold set? Also are you experiencing false trips?

Ryan,

My threshold is 1.1V (we're using the chip with the fixed V_threshold). At this point, no, I am not seeing any adverse behavior. I just wanted to see if there are any red flags if we were to toggle the Vcc for this chip between 5V and 3.3V.

Hi Brian,

Thank you for the clarification. I do not foresee any issues with your application, just keep in mind that your high-level output voltage will be changing with your Vdd.

I am less familiar with the TS5A22362 mentioned in your other post. I will let someone more familiar with that device respond.
