Will the BQ24079T work with Li-Polymer batteries?

Hello,

Is there something in the BQ24079T that would prevent it from working with Li-Po batteries?  It is designed for Li-Ion, but most of the other BQ devices specifically mention both Li-Ion and Li-Polymer, but not the datasheet for BQ24079T.  My guess is that it will work fine, but I wanted to get confirmation.

    Yes it should, LiIon and LiPoly use the same charging profile.

    This part charges up to 1.5Amps and will regulate the battery voltage to 4.1V Vout reg.
    4.1-4.2V is typical for LiIon and LiPoly.

    To be sure compare the battery specs to the Vout reg and charging current.
