can LM1117-ADJ low side resistor be tied ground directly ?

customer said the other competitor 1117-ADJ could do this stranger application ...,,

is it possible ?

    Not sure what the question is since one side of the low side resistor (R2) is tied to ground to set the desired output voltage (Vout).

    Do you mean 'can the ADJ pin be tied to ground directly?' (Yes, it can. Vout=Vref), or is there something else?
