main difference between bq500211A and bq500212A

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ500211A, BQ500212A, BQ51013B, BQ500211

Hi

I am a bit confuse and dont know waht to choose between the 211 and 212 products.

both of them looks to me the same except the MSP additional option in the 211.

Is it the only main difference?

Can you please point me to other differences? I have the 211 and it working with the 51013B does the 212 will work the same?

Regards,

  • Bq500212A vs bq500211A

1.)    Both devices are WPC 1.1—will support FOD

2.)    Power section for both are the same.

3.)    212A is designed to support low power standby mode without MSP430

4.)    212A has FOD_CAL Pin, this feature will make it easier to calibrate unit for FOD

The bq51013B is WPC 1.1 device.

BQ500211 is WPC 1.0 only and cannot be Qi certified.

If you are going to Qi certify your device you will  need to use the 211A or 212A device.

  • Hi Bill

    thanks for your sweep answer.

in the final answer I meant will the bq51013B will work with 212A I guess the naswer is positive.

due to your answer I have one more question,  regarding the 212A which designed to support low power standby, I see in the EVM that the design of 211A and and212A is different in the sleep snooze are (page 1 in the 212A schematics). there are 3 transistors instead of 1 in the 211A where can I find what each of them does? and if I can connect a controller that will give the signals for sleep and snoose instead of that prt of the circuit that I cant understand ints exact functionality.

    thanks again,
