TPS2421-2 Startup – Fault signal is triggered

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2421-2

Hello,

I have a question about the TPS2421-2 startup reaction on the Fault signal (/FLT).

Whenever I set the enable Pin low (/EN) the component starts to switch on the output.  But as you can see the /FLT is triggered (low).

My questions:

-          Is this a normal behavior or just a circuit problem?

-          Do you know why /FLT goes low?

Below I attached the schematic and the measurement results.

 - Schematic:

- Measurement results:

Startup 1:

You can see the enable (/EN) goes low, the component starts drive the output.

But as you can see the /FLT is triggered (low).

Startup 1:

Same measurement as above.

In this picture you can see the effect.

Startup 2:

Same measurement as above.

As you can see, also on shutdown the /FLT signal goes low.

Shutdown 1:

You can see the behavior on shutdown.

Shutdown 1:

Same measurement as above.

As you can see, also on shutdown the /FLT signal goes low.

Thanks for your support!

Best regards,

Marc
