Hi,
I am using a 6v 200mA solar panel to charge a 3.7v 510mAh Li-Polymer battery, which option will be better:
1. Connecting TS to input
2. Connecting TS to VSTB
I need the PCB layout for Bq24210, can any one help?
Thanks,
Shahbaz

Hello Shahbaz,
I would recommend using the TS pin for its intended purpose of monitoring your pack temperature. Li-Polymer is not something to just toy around with and the reason why the TS pin is incorporated into the design is to protect your designs and whoever is using it by monitoring the battery and controlling the charge and discharge to ensure its stays in a safe operating range.
Regarding a PCB layout I would recommend looking at the layout used for the EVM or the one shown in the reference guide Pg. 8-9.

Hello Shahbaz,
It looks like the answer is on Pg 17 fo the datasheet.
If Limited Power Charging mode is not desired upon removal of the battery with a thermister, apply a voltage
equal to 30% VTSB on TS pin using two external resistors to set a voltage divider and disable the TS monitor
function.
This should hold the IC in a typical charging case.
