PTH08T Absolute Maximum Ratings for the SmartSync pin?

In the datasheets for PTH08T220W and PTH08T240W no Absolute Maximum Ratings are given for the SmartSync pin. The datasheet lists 5.5V max for "SYNC High-Level Input Voltage" in the electrical characteristics, is this to be seen as absolute maximum, or is it OK to apply Vin? (At Vin = 12.7V)
