Receiver coil calculation

hi,

I want to know how do we calculate the required inductance value of the receiver coil? If my input on transmitter side say is 19v taking a reference 24uH on primary side, what value of inductance should i use for the receiver coil if i want a 7v regulated output?

i also want to know if the same receiver coil can be used at 100kHz and 6 Mhz ?

Thanks

  • Hi Gorre,

Usually for wpc receiver system (110 KHz to 215 KHz operating frequency) and for 5V, 5W receiver coil is around 10uH to 12uH. But this also depends on the final configuration and the shielding material.

There are equations provided in the datasheet on how the tune the resonant caps (Cs and Cd) for wpc requirement

see recomended coils of the EVM in the user's guide BOM.

    Thanks!

    Tahar
