Hello,

I have new project  follow PMP6963 to design, In datasheet current sense equation all for non isolation,

PMP6963 using flyback topology can you provide detail calculation for PMP6963 Rsense?

Consider Rsense derating we need to know detail calculation,

    Hi Kevin,

    The resistor can be calculated with Equation 49 in the datasheet. The only difference is the Ipeak calculation is different for a flyback. PMP6963 operates in CCM at full load, this means Ipeak can be calculated with the following Equation:

    Ipeak = Vout * Iout / (Vin * D * Efficiency) + Iripple / 2

    where

    D = Vout * N / (Vin + Vout * N)

    N = transformer turns ratio

    Iripple = Vin * D / (Lpri * fsw)

    Lpri = inductance of transformer primary winding
