TPS22965 Operation Switching in a battery

I am using this device to switch on the battery. The battery is not present at time of test and i am applying 3 v to Vout at turn-on. My load switch is allowing current to pass through it from Vout to Vin  (where the battery is supposed to be) although the enable is held at ground. Is this because of the diode internal in the device? The Vbias is supposed to be at GND (it is tie to Vin) because the battery is not in but exhibits a voltage equal to Vout. The Bias voltage is approximately .6 less than Vout.

  • Sara,

You are correct. This device does not have reverse current protection, so the internal diode in the FET is turning on.

What specifications do you have for your device? I can find you a device that has reverse current protection.

    • Input voltage?
    • Load current?
    • Will CSP devices be an issue?
    • Max RON?
    • Does your application require quick output discharge?
    Thanks,
    Ben
