bq27541V200 Data Flash with EVSW

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27541-V200, BQEVSW

I am using the EVSW V.0.9.88 to program bq27541V200 parts.  When I open the DATA FLASH tab and look at subclass CONFIGURATION subclass DATA I see the locations as I expect to see based upon the data sheet SLUSA11A, page 20 Table 7, but also in the same Subclass DATA I see two spots to enter SERIAL NUMBER and DATE OF MFG.  They are located between the Initial Max Load and Cycle count.  I know it works because I can set that data and then read it back and its valid.  Since its not referred  to in the data sheet, I don't know where it is storing these two pieces of data. Since I don't know where it is putting it, I don't know how to read it back with my host.

Please tell me where this is being stored by EVSW.

Oddly, when I look at SLUA561B "configuring the bq27541-v200 data flash" document, it shows a screen shot of the EVSW that does not include the ability to set serial number or date of mfg in the DATA subclass.

thanks

  • Dennis,

It looks like the descriptions for these two dataflash parameters were left out of the configuration app note, for whatever reason. Likely it was just an oversight.

These two parameters have no functional effect on the gauge. They are simply locations that you can use to track the packs that you make. These are being stored in dataflash, just like any other configuration parameter.

  • Thanks for the info, but I am still missing a key point.  I apologize in advance if I am just overlooking something simple.  I am using the bqEVSW to program my DFI and the CONFIGURATION/DATA tab to set my serial number and date of mfg.  My problem is since the data sheet does not address specifically where the EVSW is storeing that info, I don't know how to access it with my host when the battery is being used.  I had thought it would put it in the Manufactures Info Block, but I don't see it there.
