May I use UCD9081 like this?

Could we use the extra monitoring pins to log some external events? I tied two logic inputs, one is active low, and one is active high. Could we program the TI part to flag when those go out of normal tolerance (or into tolerance in the case of the active high).

My goal there is to utilize the logging function of the chip to detect how many temperature faults/alerts were generated on the module over time.
