Hi,
I am trying to supply the Core voltage of 1.0V to two DSP C6678.
To do this, I am using the UCD9222 together with two UCD74111 as recommended by the forums if the core voltages of the DSP needs a high current draw.
For the configuration file to program the UCD9222, I modified the example file found in the C6678 Evaluation kit. I changed the first rail and changed the device used from 7242 to 74111 and updated the components used accordingly. I then duplicated the 1st rail onto the 2nd.
I am having the following issues:
- The current read out from UCD9222 appears to be wrong as did not connect to any cores but UCD9222 reports that rail 1 has about 3A and rail 2 has about 5A current output.
- When I do connect to the cores through CCS and load in the GEL file into the DSP drawing power from rail 1 appears to be ok. If I were to load in the GEL file into the 2nd DSP that draws power from rail 2, rail 2 has a CLF fault and it shuts off immediately. I used the Fusion Digital Power Designer to view and configure the UCD9222 and I did not see any form of current spike of increase at the point of time when rail 2 shut off and displayed CLF.
I suspect that the settings for the UCD9222 causes this problem.
I would like to seek help to verify the UCD9222 and UCD74111 designs and settings.
Attached is the XML file used for the UCD9222, and also the circuitry.
Is there any example XML file for a UCD9222+UCD74111 connection?
Thanks
