TPS65930 : USB HOST mode VBUS from external

Hello,

 

My customer is planning to force/use  the USB in host mode  but need to improve the VBUS max current , not using internal CP but provide externally. Do we have any recommendation or document to implement such configuration ?

    Hi Stephane,

    He can use external supply for VBUS to satisfy his current requirement.

    The software should ensure that CP is never started when an external supply is used. It will be good if he can connect the VBUS pin to the external connector. That way the device will know that an external supply is connected (this will help if OMAP at any time want to know the status of VBUS), else, he can keep the pin floating (I dont recommend this but some customers have used this approach).
