Update BQ27520-G4 firmware and bq27520_3_29.dfi file not found

My company is considering the use of the BQ27510-G3 Fuel gauge, and we bought the BQ27520EVM to evaluate the part.

We received the EVM with BQ27520-G1 firmware, so I tried to update the firmware to G4. It works.

I have a problem when I try to load default DFI file at step 1B in bqEASY. The file "bq27520_3_29.dfi" doesn't exist in "..\bq_Evaluation_Software\Plugins\Device_Defaults" directory.

I use v00.09.92 bqEVSW installer for all bq275xx devices (Rev. C) - sluc367c.zip . It seems to be the last available version.

Currently, I updated BQ27520-G3 firmware with "bq27520_3_24.dfi". It works.

Where can I find "bq27520_3_29.dfi" ?

Hi,

I'm still looking for upgrading firmware from BQ27520-G3 to BQ27520-G4. After some tests and read technical documents again, I understand that I can skip step 1B in bqEASY and generate new data flash with new firmware by folowing step 2. So, "bq27520_3_29.dfi" is not required.

Is that right ?

Without response, I tried to have one.

After updating to G4, step 1B, I clicked "Keep Existing DataFLASH Image". In step 2, during writing data to flash, I have an error "Could not find subclass and offset for Gas Gauging.IT Cfg.Reserve Cap-mWh".

I meet this error every configuration writing in step 2. How can I fix it ?

Hi Pierre,

We recommend you use the newer GaugeStudio instead of bqEVSW/bqEASY for bq27520-G4.

You can also use bqCONFIG for some configuration assistance, but you can only run GaugeStudio or bqCONFIG one at a time.
