Hi,

I have prepared a Golden file and I would like to use the data to program the rest of my battery packs.

When I write the data flash image to another device, then is impossible for me to calibrate it. I cannot make the current to report 0mA when is not working.

How is this possible if the battery packs are totally equal?

I am following the SLUA329 as reference.

Imanol,

Did you set the Update Status to 02 in your golden file? You should do this and then calibrate the device before sending the IT Enable command. Which device was you using?

Hi Tom,

You are right, I have not the Update Status set to 02. I will do that way and let you know if it works.

I am using the bq20z60R1.

One more question. Is it possible to configure this device if needed, to control only 1 series cell?? Or is there any trick to do it? I know that it sounds weird, as the cell balancing and many other protection will not be neccessary. But, is it possible?

Hi Tom,

I have seen that I have the Update Status set to 0E. Wich is a requirement for updating the Golden Pack. So does it have to be then 02 or not?

Update Status should be set to 02 in the golden file, so that Impedance Track is not enabled when the file is loaded into a new device. If Impedance Track is enabled, then the algorithm has control of the FETs and safety features. It is not safe to allow this until after the device has been calibrated.

The bq20z65 cannot support a 1S configuration.

In the document says that the Update Status must be changed by openning the .gg file with a notepad. However I go to the root folder and I cannot find it. Even if I put to show the hidden files.

Is it possible to change the Update Status directly with the EVSW?

Bimi,

You can change Update Status in the bqEVSW on the bq20z60 directly. You have to use the gg file.

Hi Tom,

I am close to program several electronics and I am still having problems with the mass production procedure.

I am trying to use a golden file that I have generated from a battery pack that I have already calibrated and with the learning cycles done. Even that I have the update status from the golden file to 0x02 I cannot calibrate the new electronics. I cannot put to 0mA when there is no current flowing.

I have tried also with by importing the .gg file and changing the update status to 0x02 with the notepad but the result is the same.

The only way for me to calibrate the devices is by selecting the bq20z60_1_05.dfi file at the beginning.

What am I doing wrong to calibrate the devices from a golden file???
