bq24253 - what happens if the /CE bit is 1 and the input power fails?

If I set the /CE bit in the Register #2 according to the the datasheet, the charge function is disabled by turning off the BAT FET between SYS and BAT. What happens, if in this situation the adapter is removed? Does the bq24253 recognize this and connect the battery to the load before the voltage of the load drops too much? Or is this simply a reset?

Hello Andreas,

The BQ24253 will handle a a voltage drop on the input either by change in the load or by removing the charging source by entering supplement mode or some variation of that operation, Pg. 31.

thanks for the answer!

I testet the behaviour with the bq27421 eval-board. It enters supplement mode when charge is disabled and the source is removed. I suppose the bq24253 does the same.
