bqEasy Automatic Chemistry Selection Fail

NBARABINO

I ran the automatic chemistry selection tool in bqEasy and got this error at the end "Run-time error '9': Subscript out of range", when selecting "Match Best Chemistry".

I didn't skip any step in the wizard. What could have happened?

I suggest you carry out learning manually. Do not use Bqeasy to carry out learning. Only use it to select your chemistry.

Thanks for your answer.

The problem is not with the learning cycles but with the automatic chemistry selection, as we don't know which chemistry matches our cells.

Can I run the charge and discharge cycles, log voltage and current and send it to you? We don't have Mathcad here.

you can check the nomenclature of the cells and search the excel sheet for an exact match. If non, then yeah you can run the cycles and send to me for cell identification.
Here is the data collection procedure for ChemID analysis:
• You will need to monitor the cell voltage, cell temperature, current and set the time to log every 1 second. You can log additional data, but that it all that we need. You can also have several cells in series, but we need these parameters logged for one of the cells.
• Charge the pack to full and allow it to taper to a C/100 taper current.
• Let it rest for at least 2 hours, then discharge it at a C/10 rate to discharge complete.
• Let it rest for an additional 2 hours.
• Send the log file to me and I will run it on the MathCAD tool to search for a ChemID match.
• If there is no ChemID match, then 2 cells and a cell datasheet need to be sent to TI for characterization

Chem ID 252 or 295 will be a good fit for your cells.

Can you help me about same problem? I has been making several learning cycles with default chemistry in my cells and I tried almost everything that has been posted in other forums but my update status hasn't changed from 04

Hi Moroco,

Did you choose the correct chemistry? Did you set your design energy and voltages corrrectly according to the cells data sheet in the data flash of the guage. Did you ensure the criteria for Qmax update is met. It will be good to list out the process of what you are doing. On the other hand, you can follow the procedue listed in the attached document.

Hi Onyx,
I don't know the chemistry of my batteries, when I was trying of configured with bqEASY Chemistry section I choosed "Can't Identify Chemistry. Enable Cycling" option but after second discharge chemistry cycle the RSOC value was set a negative percent and begin to grow down, in last step NBARABINO's error appeared and this caused the entire window was deactivated.

I repeated all bqEASY steps again in second test but I choosed "Use Default Chemistry" in chemistry section and I begin two learning cycles, in this test my update status don't change.

Hi Moroco.

The first step will be to indentify your chemistery using our mathcad tool and a relax discharge relax profile of your battery. I sugesst you do this manually and not using bqeasy.

The process to have that done is contained in the attachement. If you do not have matcad, after you have obtained the rel-dis-rel profile send it accross to me and i will help identify your chemistry. The matcad tool is in the link below.
