bq20z45 evm blocks charging current

I think your charge and discharge fets are not turned on. You will need the EVSW to enable the fets by either issuing command mac access command 21 or by writing 0006 to the fet register 46 using the pro screen of the EVSW.

I still have to check and write to register 46. I will be using Arduino to communicate with the evm and I am still developing the code for that. But what could be the reason as to why the CHG and DSG were switched off? Do I have to write to register 46 every time I'm charging/discharging the battery?

the gauge can be configured to switch off the fets upon primary charge termination. also you need command 21 to be sent to enable IT and also turn on the fet. Depending on if your cells are non removable, you can tie /pres pin to ground. that will have your fets on, as long as there you have enabled IT and there is no electircal fault on the pack that would make them turn off.

We are trying to write to the register 0x46 but we figured the device is put into Sealed Mode and we cannot read the UnsealKey and FullAccessKey. Can you send me the keys for these two?

As long as you didn't change the default keys, they are :

unseal : 0x0414, 0x3672.

Full access: 0xffff, 0xffff
