PTD08A010W component details

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PTD08A010W

Hello

I'm testing a 28069 Piccolo chip here with an evaluation board described in SPRUFR6. It has two Buck units on it, and they are called PTD08A010W. Now, according to the datasheet, the possible input is 4.75V-14V, and the evaluation board uses 12V, and the output is 0.7 to 3.6V, with currents up to 10A.

According to the datasheet, the main coil is 0.9uH, which I find a bit strange. I haven't tried to measure the components, but wouldn't such a small inductance cause an amazing ripple current? I'm currently switching at 100kHz, and outputing a 3.3V, and the performance on the output voltage doesn't seem that bad.

I'm trying to make something quite similar here, switching with the same processor and the same routine, so it would be nice to compare with an existing functional design before assembling them.

OK, thank you.
