Hi,

I am using TPS54540-Q1 and TPS2513 for "idevice" charging. It works fine with iPhone 5/5S/iPad2 but iPad Air shows "Not Charging". I am testing with 2100mA divider mode (2.0V/2.7V) and drawing about .5A (iPhone) and iPad Air at about .6A. Any ideas? Thanks,

Our team in China has successfully tested the Ipad Air with TPS2513 so I'm not sure what the issue could be. Have you tried this using the TPS2513EVM on the 10W port?

Yes I have. I suppose the issue is more on the TPS54540-Q1 than TPS2513.

Yes, possibly. One thing to try is to monitor the voltage with a scope between the '40 output and '13 input to see if it droops/sags as the air tries to pull the higher current.

The voltage drops from 4.99 to 4.68 while it draws 0.3A. The delta of voltage drop is still within the Apple's guidelines that's why I am puzzled.

Is there a simple way to boost the voltage on the EVM of TPS54540-Q1 from 4.99 to 5.2 without replacing the resistor? thanks,

Not that I can think of. I looked at the TPS54540-Q1 EVM and the test points provided don't seem to allow easy changing of the output voltage.

Have you looked at the TPS2511EVM? It uses TPS54240 and has provisions to change the output voltage as required by the Apple device as required.
