Decreasing LM5069 insertion time

Hi,

I'm trying to make a simple power-limiting circuit to bring up a 0.25F cap bank to 60V. In order to achieve this, I need to make the cap on the TIMER pin a couple orders of magnitude larger - testing with an AN-1522 eval board.

I've put 200uF between TIMER and ground, which now means that we don't produce a fault during the in-rush limiting, however it how takes around 3 minutes to get through the 'Insertion Time'.

Is there a nice way to either decrease the Insertion Time or to eliminate it all together?

Hi Brian,

Unfortunately you cannot change the insertion time of the LM5069. Best solution is to switch to TPS2493. It is 60V capable with power limiting. However, Ctimer only affects fault time. You can evaluate this performance using the EVM as shown below.
