Energy harvesting from thermocouple to charge Lion and provide 3.3V out using DC 0.38Vin @.09A max

I would like to charge/maintain a Lion 3V bat or supercap using energy harvested from a thermocouple that puts out 0.38v @0.09A. The complete design needs to supply an MSP430 & Bluetooth radio @ 1/20 - 1/100 duty cycle with continuous charge current.

Any ideas?

Hello,

I would suggest looking at the BQ255xx family of energy harvesters that TI has available.

They are able to take energy from very low power sources and charge Li-ion batteries or super capacitors.

I saw the article/announcement of the BQ225xx part(s) yesterday... Although it didn't come right out and say it would scrounge energy from a lowly thermocouple, it sounds like it might do the trick. I look forward to testing it.
