bq76PL536A Temperature Calculation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76PL536A, BQ76PL536A-Q1

How would one convert the value from TS1 or TS2 to a temperature value?  We are using the recommended thermistor (Panasonic ERT-J1VG103FA) with the recommended  resistor values (Rt = 1.47 kohm and Rb = 1.82 kohm).

Please note also that the formula to convert the TSn measurement value to a ratio is missing from the datasheet for the A version.

  • There are a couple of different ways to convert the measurement to an actual temperature value. I would suggest reviewing the formulae described here. Your controller would need to implement the calculation methid of your choice.

Apologies for the mistake in the bq76PL536a datasheet... The bq76PL536a-q1 datasheet does include the calculation.

  • Using the Steinhart-Hart equation presented on the Wikipedia page with coefficients for a 10 Kohm thermistor generates a more accurate temperature conversion than the formula in the Panasonic data for the thermistor.

    Thanks for the help.
