I currently have a working Bq34z100 battery monitor project which can be successfully programmed via the bq MultiStation Tester. Now i'm looking at the possibilty of being able to update its configuration via a microcontroller. From what i've read on the forum so far i believe that the DFI would have been suitable but its no longer supported by TI and also i can't seem to generate one anyway, only .ROM files.

I understand that the golden image file is encrypted so thats no use to me unless i can decode it.

Can i export a file from BQ evaluation software and somehow extract all the info i need to reprogram the Bq34z100 ?

Alan,

We have an document on the bq34z100 product folder that provides code examples to extract and load dfi files to the device. It is SLUA665. The .rom file and .dfi file are the same for the first 1 kbyte of data. The .rom file has additional header information in the second 1 kbyte of data.
