Half bridge LLC resonant transformer

Hello,

The application notes http://www.ti.com/lit/ml/slup263/slup263.pdf does not talk about how to design the transformerfor half bridge LLC , nor the equations. Could any one please guide me as of how to get the equations to design the LLC transformer for Half bridge resonant converter?

Hello Kali,

Looking through the app note that you referenced and searching for other TI literature on the subject nothing turned up in a cursory search but doing a quick Google search I found a LLC magnetics design presentation that could serve as a good starting point.

Hello Ryan,

Thank you for providing the document link. I did have a look at that document before contacting TI. That document is Greek and Latin to me. I do not understand most of the formulae and parameters. I guess I am left with that option only . Anyways thank you for your help. The funniest part is this app notes describes the calculation and formulea very clearly http://www.ti.com/lit/ml/slup263/slup263.pdf , but when it came to the transformer design: it wasn't described properly.

I have been able to dig up a little bit more material for you. I would recommend looking at the following document especially Pg. 13 and beyond for discussion of the LLC and resonant topologies and the transformer characteristics.

I would also recommend looking at the following design tools for half bridge and resonant converters.
