Microphone Power Requirements

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61220

Application:  Wireless Profesional Microphone (Low Noise, Wide Dynamic Range)

Please provide recomendations...

POWER:

Vin = 1.8 to 4.2V

Vout1 = 10V @ 5mA

Vout2 = 5V @ 20mA

Vout3 = 2.8V @ 140mA

Vout4 = 1.2V@40mA

I started with the TPS61220, but they stated that fixed frequency is critical.

Do we have some good fixed frequency solutions for these rails?

  • The Power Quick Search is a good tool for finding power solutions.  From www.ti.com, click on Power Management and you will see the fields where you enter your input and output voltages and current.  For devices that have PWM/PFM mode, you will need to configure the IC to operate in fixed PWM mode.  Also note that a device like the TPS61220 will have a fairly constant frequency unless the load current has wide swings.
