Hey,
I just ordered the BQ25505 eval board. However when I chose my solar panel, I got one with OCV of 4.5v, which is more than the max 4v rating. Do I need to ensure that this voltage is never bigger than 4 or it could work as is?

The EVM allows you use to use a jumper to set the VOC_SAMP pin high or low for MPP levels of 80% or 50% of VOC. respectively.
Or you can use another jumper to tie VOC_SAMP to the on-board resistors that set the MPP level to 75% of VOC.
You need to solder new resistors if none of those options work for you.
