Hi!
I am designing a 3xAAA NiMH battery charger using the TPS63000. Together with a shunt resistor current measurment (working) I adjust a voltage source connected to FB on the TPS. This way I can regulate voltage to get constant current charging.
VIN is constant ~5.0V (USB charger) and I want 1.2V (or 2.4V) < VOUT < 5.5V ~1A. I found a good application note that I use as reference:
http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slva251/slva251.pdf
and I also use the WEBENCH for TPS63000, however I get som "Stability check errors".
My questions are:
1. Can I use TPS63000 to reach my goals as stated above?
2. I calculate R1 = 147k, R2 = 16k9, R3 = 113k. But I am not sure regarding L. Can it be 2.2uH or shall it be lower?
3. The current can be lower than 1A as stated above, it depends on the battery capacity. But not lower than 0,8A I think... Is it better to use other components than stated in 2.
Thanks
