TPS65137AEVM problem

HI,

I am using TPS65137AEVM board for testing. I faced some problem related with output voltage while i was testing the board.

When I connect resistor across the positive and negative output voltage, and supply input voltage, the device is not working as it is supposed to work.

But when I first supply input voltage and then connect resistor a across the positive and negative output voltage, the device is working properly. the resistor I used is 75ohm.

I couldn't understand what the problem is. From the datasheet, I read about SHORT CIRCUIT PROTECTION function.

Even if I toggled the CTRL pin high and low as the datasheet said, the problem still persists.

Is there anybody to help me? please.

  • Hello Bill,

The current limit during soft-start is too low to supply the 75 ohm load as well as increase the output voltage. Please check the output voltage with a scope while you have the 75 ohm resistor connected and I expect that it will never reach the 3V level on the positive output and the -1V on the negative output. This means the part is stuck in softstart.

If you increase the resistance of your load during startup, the problem should be gone.

    Best regards,
    Brigitte
