The bq51013B datasheet offers methods to support either capacitive or resistive load modulation. I'm not sure which method is best suited for my use. Can you offer insight into situations that would favor one method over the other?

Capacitive load modulation will dissipate less power by shifting the system impedance. Most receivers use this approach to reduce power dissipation in the RX module and improve efficiency.
Resistive modulation is an option under the specification, but power will be dissipated on the comm resistors that will have to be dissipated.
