bq20z90 shutdown mode

I am having a problem for which I cannot find information in the TI documentation.  Our customer has an application where his equipment shuts down when the pack charge level drops below a certain point.  If the pack is not recharged, it will continue to discharge due to self-loading until the voltage drops below the CUV or PUV threshold and the DSG FET turns off.  If the pack is allowed to self-drain further (i.e. the end user has failed to put the battery on charge after using the equipment and leaves it sitting on the shelf for a long time), eventually the pack will completely shut down and will no longer be able to be in communication via the EV2300/SMBus commands.  How do I determine at which point in this cycle these events (normal operation to DSG cutoff and DSG cutoff to pack hibernation) occur?  Is it a cell or pack voltage measurement set by the .gg file?
