How to fill custom information into the message of Identification Packet when using BQ51013B?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ51013B, BQ51221

BQ51013B is used as a wireless power receiver. According to the WPC1.1, Identification Packet may contain ID messages such as Manufacturer Code, Device ID, etc. How to fill these information to the packet by the HOST?  Are EN1/EN2 configurable ports just like I2C?

  • Jie,

The bq51013B sends a limited amount of data to the Transmitter related to the power transfer.  Included in this information is the Identification Packet that provides information about the IC, not the end product.  There is no way for the host to interact with this information.  The EN1/EN2 pins on the bq51013B are not I2C pins.

The newly released bq51221 does have the ability to communicate with the receiver host and send information from the receiver to the transmitter.  Please investigate the bq51221 for more information on that device’s capabilities.

    Regards,
