LM10011 IDAC_IOUT PCB trace pattern

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM10011

Do you have recommended PCB trace pattern of LM10011 IDAC_OUT?

My customer is designing PCB layout. So they are thinking the following,

-IDAC_OUT trace width is 0.1mm.

-IDAC_OUT trace length is max 29.4mm.

  They have three patterns. 29.4mm, 13.3mm, 6.74mm.

Please let me know if  you have any concern about the above.

  • Hello Sasaki-san,

As the IDAC_OUT trace is typically connected to the FB pin of a PWM controller or regulator, it is quite important to minimize the possibility of noise pickup, particularly with the long trace lengths you mention. In general, such traces should be kept away from SW node planes and gate drive routing to MOSFETs. Also, it is imperative to route the IDAC_OUT trace away from the inductor as this can radiate (especially near the airgap), increasingly the possibility of unwanted noise coupling. Sensitive traces in general should be ground guarded by adjacent ground-connected copper, and trace lengths should be as short as possible.
