Combining outputs on TPS54383/6

Hi, I'm trying to base a design for a client on the TPS54383/6 which actually requires about 5A current for a single voltage. This brings me to my question - Can I keep same voltages on both outputs on the TPS54383 and combine them to get a higher current output? Also Could you suggest a chip from the TI product portfolio for 12V DC @ 10A? This would be used to drive a brushless motor.

Thanks!

  • I do not recommend tying those two outputs together.  You could make them the same voltage and supply the individual load circuits from either of the two supplies (half on one, half on the other).  You could use power quick search or webench to search for other solutions (you did not provide your output voltage requirement).
