bq40z50 - Application book

Dear all,

I plan to use the bq40z50 in a new application. I am familiar with both the bq20z75 and the bq20z45 but bq40z50 is new to me. Therefore I have limited experience setting the DF parameters which is new compared to what I am used to.

My questions are: Will there be an application book available in the near future (could not find anything on the TI website nor the forum) like the SLUA404 where most of the parameters are explained in detail ?

    I asked about guides similar to ones they have like "Going to Production" and "Configuring Data Flash" and was told that they are working on the former (release schedule unknown), but are not planning on the latter.

    The way it was described to me, this part is targeted to the notebook battery pack designers, so they know most of these parameters already.

    It's a nice part, probably overkill for our use, but we're going to use it anyway (with a lot of help from this forum!) Maybe if enough people ask for it, they'll come through with an App book.

    Hi Tom,

    Thank you som much for your comments which I find interesting. I agree with you - the bq40z50 seems to be an interesting component with a lot of features.

    Hope that we can use the Forum to assist and therefore I will not mark the post as answered before anybody from TI comments my question as well.

    Thank you very much for your support. I will look out for any publised material from TI regarding the bq40z50. By the way, - I am aware of your Application Report SLUA660 which contains a lot of valuable info when it comes to the PCB - and hardware design.
