Hi!

I have a question regarding the LM3880 power down sequence.

We plan on connecting an open-drain output to the LM3880 enable pin.

I cannot find any information in the datasheet about how long the enable signal must be kept low to ensure a correct power down sequence.

If the enable signal is set high during the power down sequence, is a complete power down sequence guaranteed anyway?

Hi Knut,

Once the EN signal goes low, the power down sequence will occur. There is an internal timer which protects against glitches in the enable signal.

So when the EN signal is set high during a power down sequence, the sequence will complete properly before it will start up again, granted EN signal is still high.

Check out Pg. 10 in the datasheet for some more info on this.
