TPS2420 Continuous Load Current at 12Vdc

Is it 5A, or 4A?  The datasheet is not clear to me.  I know that I can set Imax to 5A, however, it appears that Ifault might have a limit of 4A, which means my max continuous is 4A.

    Robert,

    As you said the Ifault can be set to 4A and Imax to 5A. This means 4A can be exceeded but only up to 5A for the time value set by the capacitor on the CT pin. So 4A is the max continuous current. However please be aware of the maximum load as specified in the datasheet on page 14.
