I am designing a battery powered device that uses the BQ24251 as a charger. It also needs to use the USB connection on occasions as a full speed (not high speed) data port. I always believed that the BC1.2 D+/D- detection would only affect USB operation until detection is complete, but after searching the datasheet for clarity on this I am less confident. I still believe that the BQ24251 should disconnect from D+ and D- under normal conditions, but are there conditions when it would remain connected and mess up communications on the port? Perhaps if the battery is dead, or not present? Thanks in advance.
