Hello,

The TPS27082L has top side marking “|(vertical bar) BUA”. However, which side denotes pin 1?

Matt,

Standard pin numbering starts from the top left and moves counter-clockwise around the package. The "Top" of the device is generally marked with a bar, a notch, or a dot as shown below:
