Using UCC27532 gate driver for driving latching solenoid

Hello,

I need to bidirectionally switch a single coil latching solenoid/relay. This means that I have to switch 24V/1A in pulses of approx 300ms. Such 1A pulses will not occur for more than 6 times per minute.

Normally for this type of application, one would need to use a full bridge configuration in order to switch coil polarity. My question is, what would stop me from using two UCC27532A gate drivers and build a full bridge configuration using the complementary MOSFETs pairs in each driver?

The occasional 300ms pulses shouldn't cause any dissipation issues in the drivers I think, and the high side MOSFET is a non boots-trapped P-channel which means in can stay in a 'high' state indefinitely.

Any helps is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Daniel...
